Academic mobility

Dr. Jean-Voisin Taguebue, a medical doctor specialized in pediatric infectious diseases from the Centre Mère et Enfant in Yaounde (Cameroon) visited the University of Geneva (Switzerland) from the 30th July 2013 till the 16th of August 2013. In collaboration with Dr Rafael Ruiz de Castaneda (PhD in Ecology) from the University of Geneva’s team of AFRICA BUILD, the main objective of this visit was to develop a lecture of a course on Environmental Health, according to the AFRICA BUILD Methodology. The lecture developed during this 2.5 weeks was on childhood pneumonia and diarrhoea in Africa and the implications of environmental factors. This experience of academic mobility represents the start for further collaborations between Dr Taguebue and other African partners with the University of Geneva. Partners from Mali and Ghana are also already involved in this course on environmental health, which will soon be available on the AFRICA BUILD Portal.
